One of the key berry crops to be discussed at the 9th International Scientific and Practical
Conference will be blueberries. Ukraine is establishing itself as one of the leading blueberry
producers in Europe. Despite the challenges of war, labor shortages, and logistics issues,
the blueberry sector continues to grow. Therefore, a significant part of the conference
program will be dedicated to this berry crop. However, attention will also be given to other
berries such as raspberries, strawberries, and niche crops (hascap, sea buckthorn, rosehip,
blackberry, etc.). At the same time, the conference will highlight topics related to freezing,
cooling, and processing of berry products. What is needed to increase profitability in the
berry business? First of all, stable investment combined with cost optimisation, variety
analysis for external and domestic market needs, implementation of new technologies on
farms, certification, and entering foreign markets. It is also essential to thoroughly study such
aspects as substrate cultivation, pot growing, open/covered soil systems, and organic vs.
conventional production. And of course, special attention should be paid to technological
issues — planting, irrigation, plant protection, storage, packaging, and etc.
These and many other issues will be addressed during the first day of the conference by
international and Ukrainian experts and practitioners. December 11: The first-day program
includes presentations by foreign and leading Ukrainian experts in berry growing and
processing.
Discussion panel: “Season summary, challenges and realities, prospects. Domestic and
export sales: product quality and certification, packaging, logistics, pricing policy, and
more.”At the same time, in another hall, the 5th Congress on Freezing and Cold Logistics
will take place.
Throughout the conference, there will be an exhibition of technologies and equipment for
berry cultivation — tools, plant protection products, fertilizers, machinery, and more — as
well as a tasting exhibition of beverages (distillates, wines, cider, berry-based juices) and
processed products made from berries and fruits, including mead beverages (candies, dried
fruits, chips, frozen products, jams, and freeze-dried goods).
A business negotiation table with traders and representatives of retail chains will also be
available.
The first day of the conference will traditionally conclude with a charity auction of goods and
services in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
December 12: An exceptionally interesting business tour will take place, with visiting key
agro-industrial enterprises in the region.

Main idea of the conference: to promote berry growing in Ukraine, showcase the latest
technologies and best practices, support the development of farms and enterprises, and
address issues of food security and the country’s overall well-being.
Conference goal: to get acquainted market participants with the most modern technologies
for implementation on their own plantations, thereby increasing knowledge and expertise in
berry business management. In addition, the conference aims to explore ways of selling and
storing products under today’s complex conditions — from fresh market sales to processing,
as well as freezing, cold logistics, and export.
We invite owners, managers, and chief specialists of enterprises, companies, and farms
specializing in berry cultivation, as well as companies involved in freezing and processing,
representatives of technology companies, scientists, and everyone interested in creating and
successfully developing their own business on their land!
Please note that the Winter Berry Conference is the most popular event organized by the
media group and, over its 9-year history, has attracted more than 3,000 participants, with
berry growers from all over Ukraine attending each event.
