25.08.2023, 14:11VII International charitable, scientific and practical, two-day conference Berry Growing and Processing in the Condition of Wartime. Learning to Win! will take place on December 7–8, 2023 (Rivne).
III International Congress on freezing and cold logistics for products from berry fields, orchards, and vegetable plantations will be held parallelly with the conference. On December 8, a business tour to the leading berry and processing enterprises the region will take place on the second day after the conference. On the second day, December 8, will be a business tour to the well-known enterprise Nikdaria and, in parallel, the School of berry growingwith Hanna Lutsko (optional).
The conference organizer – the media group Technologies and Innovations, publishers of the well-known journal Berry Field.

The main idea of the conference: is to give support for our berry growers, gardeners, and vegetable growers even in this tough time for us, also popularizing the latest technologies and best practices acquired in the extreme conditions of wartime, contributing to the development of farms and enterprises, and solving issues of the food security and wellness of our country overall.
The conference program covers:
• Conference section: Berry growing: main trends and challenges during wartime. Speeches from practical farmers and representatives of technological companies.
• Discussion panel: Sales on the domestic market and for export: product quality and certification, packaging, logistics, pricing policy, etc.
• All-Ukrainian congress on freezing and cold logistics for products from berry fields, orchards, and vegetable plantations: up-to-date technologies multiply by quality.
• Exhibition of equipment, tools, plant protection products, fertilizers, etc.
• Negotiation tables with trade networks.
• Exhibition-tasting of drinks and processed products from berries, fruits, and vegetables, including adding honey (candies, dried fruits, chips, frozen products, jams, freeze-dried products).
• Charity auction of goods and services for berry growing and horticulture for supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The auction will take place with the support of the Charitable Foundation Strong and Free.
• Business tour to leading berry and processing enterprises of the region on the second day of the conference, December 8.
• School of berry growing with international berry growing expert Hanna Lutsko, which will be held on December 8, in parallel with the business tour.

During the Congress on freezing and cold logistics, the following issues will be raised:
• Market of frozen berries in Ukraine. Results of the 2023 season. Prospects for the 2024 season.
• Presentation of successful experience of freezing and cooling of berries.
• Export of frozen berries.
• What is profitable: own freezing capacity at the enterprise or outsourcing services from specialized companies?
• Selection of refrigeration equipment: what mistakes should be avoided?
• Review and analysis of various technologies, types of freezing and cooling of berries, future prospects.
• Analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the freezing business.
• Labor protection in production, personnel selection, energy efficiency.

Nikdaria (TM iBerry) is one of the most innovative companies in Ukraine, which grows blueberries on an area of more than 160 hectares. The company`s assortment also includes asparagus, honeysuckle, sweet corn, and watermelon. On the plantations of the Nikdaria, blueberries of the Elliot, Chandler, Patriot, Spartan, Duke, and Blue Gold varieties are grown. Approximately 3,333 plants are planted on one hectare. The average blueberry yield is 5 tons per hectare. Plantations are equipped with a perfect irrigation system from the Eucalyptus R company. The harvested berries are sorted on the UNITEC sorting line. A refrigerator from the company 4 Stykhii is also installed in the household.

For producers of agricultural products: – UAH 3,500 – 2 days (the price includes payment for participation in all events for 2 days, including a business tour or a berry growing school, to choose from); UAH 2,000 – conference day (December 7).
For non-producers of agricultural products (companies): UAH 3,000 – conference day (December 7); UAH 4,500 – 2 days (the price includes payment for participation in all events for 2 days, including a business tour).
For small farms and scientists: UAH 1,500 per conference day.
