On February 26–27, an international conference “HortiTech Ukraine 2026: Horticulture. Vegetables. Berries” will take place in Ternopil in Garden Hall hotel
09.12.2025, 15:01
The first scientific and practical conference of 2026 organized by T&I Media Group — HortiTech Ukraine 2026 — will take place on February 26–27 in Ternopil. It will cover three key areas: horticulture, vegetable production, and berry growing.
The conference program will focus on orchard and plantation establishment, selection of planting material, nutrition, crop protection, irrigation, sorting, storage, processing, as well as intensive cultivation in open fields and in tunnels. One of the main topics of the event will be covered cultivation, including various types of greenhouses, high tunnels, multi- and mono-span structures, frost protection and rain protection systems, as well as integrated solutions for orchards, berry plantations, and vegetable crops.
February 26 – a conference will include speeches of international and Ukrainian experts and practitioners, along with an exhibition of modern technologies for horticulture, vegetable production, and processing.
February 27 – a business tour to leading horticultural, berry, vegetable, and processing farms in the region.
The organized conference aims primarily to promote and implement modern technologies for the cultivation and processing of fruit, berries, and vegetables, as well as to popularize best practices from farms and companies.
Participants include owners, managers, and chief specialists of horticultural, berry, and vegetable farms, processing enterprises, representatives of technology companies, researchers, and other industry stakeholders.
Main idea: to promote modern technologies in horticulture, berry growing, and vegetable production; to share best practices of farms and companies; to support sector development; and to contribute to Ukraine’s food security and economic resilience.
The event is focused on modern, practical technologies that will shape yields and profitability in 2026 — from approaches to orchard and plantation establishment and nutrient management to the operation of storage facilities, greenhouses, tunnels, sorting lines, and processing technologies. Two days of an intensive program featuring Ukrainian and international experts will bring together managers, agronomists, producers, engineers, technologists, equipment suppliers, exporters, and consultants, creating a platform for honest discussions about economics, risks, real-life cases, and growth opportunities.
Participants will receive structured solutions that enable production optimization, cost reduction, increased yields, and compliance with international standards.
As part of the event, a panel discussion titled “Survive and Win: New Markets and Sales in Times of Instability” will be held.
Moderator: Volodymyr Pechko, Head of the Public Union “UKRSADVINPROM,” expert in fruit and vegetable market development, active participant in working groups of the Ministry of Economy, and consultant to berry and horticultural enterprises.
A highlight of the event is the Business Tour: on the second day, February 27, participants will visit leading farms in the Ternopil region:
GADZ Farm (FG “GADZ”) and Faina Polyana Cooperative.
Gadz Company is one of the most successful examples of vertically integrated agribusiness in Ukraine, combining modern horticulture, nursery production, processing, and the export of high value-added products.
Key areas of activity of Gadz Company include:
• Horticulture: The enterprise cultivates more than 600 hectares of orchards in the Ternopil region, growing apples (Gala, Red Chief, Golden Delicious, Red Jonaprince, Idared, Fuji, Champion), pears (Conference), and plums (Stanley).
• Berry growing and horticulture: The farm has recently established strawberry fields and blueberry greenhouses. It also grows blackcurrants and redcurrants and has set up a strawberry nursery. Berry production is considered a promising area at FG “GADZ,” given strong market demand and the company’s own processing capacities.
• Vegetable production: Since launching this segment in 2022, Gadz has focused on the so-called “borsch set”. The main vegetable crops include tomatoes, cabbage, carrots, onions, beets, zucchini, and pumpkins. The shift toward vegetable production is a logical step to diversify operations in response to current market needs. The company also operates vegetable storage facilities with a total capacity of 2,000 tons.
• Nursery production: A 50-hectare fruit tree nursery has been established, with plans to produce up to 1 million saplings annually. A strawberry nursery has also been set up.
• Processing: The company operates a modern fruit processing plant with a capacity of over 6 tons per hour, producing NFC (not-from-concentrate) juices, purées, jams, and baby food, with a total output of up to 500 kg per hour.
• Fruit drying: An installed drying line enables the production of apple chips and other dried fruits, which are exported to Europe, including the Lidl supermarket chains in the Baltic States, as well as local supermarkets in the Czech Republic, France, Georgia, the Netherlands, and Israel.
• Storage and logistics: The company owns controlled-atmosphere fruit storage facilities with a total capacity exceeding 18,000 tons, ensuring long-term product storage.
• Export: The company’s products are exported to more than 30 countries worldwide, including markets in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
Thanks to its integrated production approach and commitment to innovation, Gadz Company is an example of a successful agribusiness that can serve as a source of best practices for other industry stakeholders.
Faina Polyana Cooperative
As of the end of summer 2025, the cooperative brings together 153 berry producers. Faina Polyana specializes in berry cultivation, including raspberries, strawberries, other berries, and fruit shrubs, with a gradual expansion of its product range. The total area of berry plantations within the cooperative and its partners exceeds 100 hectares; to ensure sufficient raw material supply, farms from neighboring regions are also involved.
The cooperative operates its own processing facilities, including freezing, sorting, and storage units.
It also runs four berry collection and cooling points (Pidhaіtsi, Kozova, Kuryany, Saranchuky) and has its own logistics. In 2025, the cooperative is completing the construction of a new frozen berry storage facility with a total area of nearly 650 m². Overall, the cooperative freezes more than 800 tons of berries annually, and its total production facilities already exceed 3,000 m².
The cooperative is ISO 22000:2018 certified and is preparing for FSSC 22000 certification. It currently exports products to Poland, the Czech Republic, and Estonia, and is negotiating supplies to Italy, the United Kingdom, and Canada.
HortiTech Ukraine 2026 is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, with the support of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration.
