Conference "Technologies and Innovations: From Land - to the Finished Product": the Main Organizational Partner Will Become One of the Flagships of Ukrainian Horticulture - Company Mais

IV International Conference "Technologies and Innovations: From Land - to the Finished Product" will be held on March 21-22, 2019 in Cherkasy. The two-day event will include a conference day with speeches of practitioners and market experts, scientists, producers of plant materials, technicians and technicians, exhibitions-presentations, tastings, and eventful business-tour. The conference thematic will cover all aspects of the horticultural business, from the orchard creation to sales, marketing, and export.
Agroindustrial enterprise Mais for over 25 years is a supplier of high-quality seeds of maize, sunflower, soybean, rape, peas, barley, wheat, and other crops. In 2007 the company opened another direction - horticultural, which today became a clear example of a European-level project. With the use of the potential of Ukrainian land, the company`s management used the best world technological achievements for the cultivation, storage, and processing of apples.
The orchard of Mais is well thought-out, and well-coordinated technological process and centralized management and control system. The enterprise has 170 hectares of an apple orchard with applying drip irrigation system, berry plantations. The organization of horticultural complex includes planting, a technical park for tree care, an innovative refrigerator, sorting lines, lines for processing apples, anti-hail equipment, own gas station, etc.
The Ukrainian company Insolar-Kholod built for Mais the complex for storage and sorting. Moreover, company Mais owns 27 refrigerated chambers with a regulated gas environment for fruit storage. Thus, the system let to store apples, pears, citrus fruits all time from the harvest to harvest. The Dutch sorting line GREEFA with the total capacity of 5 tons of apples per hour has been installed. A specific refrigerator with different types of chambers, equipped with ultrasonic humidifiers and providing 9 tiers of storage was created separately.
The direct-pressed juice under the trademark Najsik produces on the equipment of the Austrian company Kreuzmayr moreover all processes are automated. Enterprise is engaged in bottling ready-made juices, such as apple-carrot, apple-pumpkin, apple-beet root, as well as juices with adding raspberry, blackberry, pear in Bag in Box and in a bottle. In 2017, TM "Najsik" has received diplomas in all declared nominations at the All-Ukrainian tasting competition for direct- pressed juice.
The company Mais has its nutty center "Zalissya" including 100 hectares of walnut and hazelnut garden. Seedlings of French, Moldovan and Ukrainian breeding groups are bred by the method of winter vaccination in workshops with applying modern equipment, and stratification cameras. Moreover, the nutty center also includes a greenhouse with an area of 1000 m2 for hardening of planting materials, cutting garden for walnuts with an area of 10 hectares including a collection of 13 varieties of nut crops, and plant nursery with an area of 10 hectares with irrigation system.
It should be noted, within the conference, especially for nut growers, we have prepared a section dedicated to cultivation and processing of nut crops with the engagement of scientists and practitioners.
On March 22, the conference participants will be able to personally get acquainted with the work of the whole agro-industrial complex "MAIS" during a business tour.
